Wild Horses

(2025, 26)

When you're free, they'll label you

Wild, so let that be my name

I am symbiotic to wild things

I graze the open land, the land raises me

I lead a chosen herd, I am held

With glee

I show them my survival, they calculate

My speed

I lend them my back, they stamp it

With a fee, I believe

In wild things

And all of our free

Sent to the slaughter, yet alive

In me… I don’t know an extinction

That has severed my return

I’ll gallop further home

When they drain the sea.
